SPA/OSP/CGA, in collaboration with SPROUT and an extensive network of MSU staff involved in pre-award, post-award and compliance aspects of research administration, provide the latest news, training, resources and information available to campus.
The ERA certification series provides training for research administrators and other support staff who have responsibilities for research proposals, grants, contracts, pre- and post-award administration and related activity at Michigan State University.
Additional training opportunities are available from external sources, such as the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) and The Society of Research Administrators International (SRA International).
The Research Administration System, Kuali Coeus or KC, went live on April 24, 2017. This deployment provides MSU faculty and administrative staff with access to the system’s proposal development and conflict of interest modules. MSU’s research community will benefit from improved information management throughout the complex life-cycle of proposal development and submission, award administration, and compliance. Educational opportunities are available through instructor-led and eLearning courses, KC working lab sessions, KC demonstrations and support materials.
The SPA/OSP/CGA training videos communicate the wealth of information that can be accessed by research faculty and administrators on project financial and administrative activity. Video training is intended to supplement classroom training and other educational opportunities offered through our offices.
